Join us for a summer of adventure with Wild Hope’s Grace Camp in Rutherford County, North Carolina.
Our inaugural summer Grace Camp is an opportunity for personal growth and fun as campers develop an understanding of their relationship with nature, their fellow man, and God.
Led by North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Western Seminary graduate John Moore, along with a rotating staff of well-grounded volunteers, Grace Camp is designed to be an unforgettable summer of transformation for your son.
Grace Camp features a Bible study based on the Redefine Grace study by Grace Alliance, which empowers young men to not only manage the ups and downs of life, but to thrive in everyday situations. Grace Campers also learn about local businesses by touring and engaging with a different business owner every week. Our days also include outdoor experiences including hiking, biking, fishing, and other fun activities.
Grace Camp begins in July 2020 with one meeting per week and ends in mid August with an overnight backpacking trip in the mountains around Montreat, NC, led by an expedition partner. Sign up to receive more information using the form below.
Why Grace Camp?
Ever wonder why Wild Hope places such an emphasis on being in the outdoors at Grace Camp? We believe that the Creator is revealed through His creation, which requires us to spend time outdoors experiencing the natural wonders of the world. It’s a foundational part of building our relationship with God. Grace Camp provides opportunities for participants to spend quality time each day and [some] nights in God’s playground. The adventurous challenges and tranquil beauty God gave us in nature allow for a ministry experience like no other. Christian-led excursions in creation provide unique opportunities for fun, build self-confidence, help deepen relationships, and encourage positive spiritual growth.
Designed to be Outdoors
Humans were designed to live in nature, learning about God through His creation and learning about oneself and others by experiencing the wilderness together. Today’s youth are growing up indoors, spending hours on computers and gaming devices. As “screen time” increasingly replaces interpersonal communication and tangible experiences, these generations are left with developmental gaps: mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
Never before have young people been so protected and distracted from the natural world, its wonders, challenges, adventures, and intrigues. Never before have young people been so “connected” to each other and, yet, so lonely.
Wild Hope is concerned for the spiritual growth of those who rarely, if ever, have meaningful encounters with God while in the outdoors. We seek to remind people that nature was intended to be a part of our development and that being in the wild actually makes us more fully human.
Create Your Own Grace Camp Experience
In addition to our summer Grace Camp, we would love to work with you to design and personalize a Grace Camp experience for your group. Spending time in nature is no longer happening, and the impact is affecting the growth process of our youth in unfathomable ways. As the awareness of these developmental needs is increasing, youth pastors, teachers, directors of Christian camps, and parents are demanding ways of incorporating God’s creation into the lives of those for which they are responsible. Outdoor education and adventure programs are valuable tools to help Christian leaders face this new and growing challenge. And, in the presence of these needs, Wild Hope is committed to creating excellent, relevant, and outrageously fun outdoor experiences for youth.
